5.2.1 CS01.01 — Summary Record for reporting claims and financial data

This is the Record used to communicate summary data about the claims in right shares and associated amounts due in respect of those claims contained in CDM Statements created in accordance with the Claims Amounts profile or the Claims Corrections Amounts profile.

RightsController Name

The name of the owner(s) or administrator(s) for all rights being claimed in the CDM Statement.

The rights controller may also be the licensor.

A value in the RightsControllerName Cell is mandatory only if the licensor wishes to communicate to the licensee that the claims being made in the CDM Statement are on behalf of one or more rights controllers (one of which may be the licensor itself).

As some licensors may represent several rights controllers, it may be necessary for a clear distinction between rights controllers and the licensor to be reflected in the data contained in any CDM Statement created in accordance with the CDM standard.

The party that generated the sales and/or usage data reported in a DSR Message to which the data contained in the CDM Statement is a response.

A value in the DistributionChannel Cell is mandatory if the DSR Message generated by the licensee contained sales/usage data relating to multiple distribution channels so that such multiple distribution channels can be differentiated in data contained in the CDM Statement.

In most cases, the value in this Cell shall contain the value in the DistributionChannel Cell in the relevant summary Record of the DSR Message to which the CDM Statement is a response.

StartOfClaimPeriod

The start date of the period for which claims in right shares are being made in ISO 8601:2004 format. This is a string with the syntax YYYY[-MM[-DD]].

The period between StartOfClaimPeriod and EndOfClaimPeriod is usually the same period as indicated in the CDMH.01 Record. If permitted by the bilateral agreement between the licensee and the licensor, the value in the StartOfClaimPeriod Cell in this CS01.01 Record may be different from the value in the UsageStartDate Cell the CDMH.01 Records.

When a DSR Message to which the CDM Statement is a response, covers a period longer than the period between the StartOfClaimPeriod and the EndOfClaimPeriod, such as a quarter the period between the StartOfClaimPeriod and the EndOfClaimPeriod can be used to identify sub-periods for claims in right shares.

The StartOfClaimPeriod and the EndOfClaimPeriod reflect the reporting period range agreed between licensee and licensor and may be the aggregation of several periods reported in a DSR Message.

A value in the StartOfClaimPeriod Cell is mandatory if the licensor is responding to a DSR Message that provides separate sub periods. Otherwise, the period between the StartOfClaimPeriod and the EndOfClaimPeriod is as specified in the CDMH.01 Record.

TotalClaimedAmount

The amount due to the rights controller or licensor, as determined by the bilateral agreement between the licensee and the licensor, in respect of the claims in right shares which are the subject of the CDM Statement, in the CurrencyOfInvoicing.

If a CS01 Record is followed by multiple CS02 Records, the TotalClaimedAmount in the CS01 Record is the sum of all TotalClaimedAmount Cells from such CS02 Records.

In circumstances where the CDM Statement contains corrections to one or more CD01.01 Records contained in a previous CDM Statement, the value in the TotalClaimedAmount Cell is the aggregate of the values in the ClaimedAmount Cell in those CD01.01 Records.
